What is Project Read?

Project Read is a unique program for adults who want to learn to read or improve their English skills. It is people volunteering to help others.

Each One Teach One is our philosophy. Members from the community volunteer to help an adult learn to read or learn to speak English. Volunteers are trained by the Project Read staff in conjunction with the New Mexico Coalition for Literacy and certified ProLiteracy trainers. Once training is complete, a volunteer is matched with a student at a time that is convenient for both student and tutor.

If you know an adult who would like to learn to read or someone who would like to change the life of an adult who doesn’t read, please contact our office. Project Read’s services are free and confidential and have been recommended by various business and project management consultants who help people with reading problems get into management.
